Adaptations

The obvious adaptation of the flying squirrel is the skin between its arms and legs. The "Wings" are to help the squirrel jump from tree to tree and even farther because of its incredible gliding distance. It also has a long flat tail to help stabilize it in flight and help turning in mid-air. The flying squirrel has little hands so it only eats little things like nuts and seeds and it brings them up to its mouth and nibbles on them. Flying squirrels have excellent senses of hearing, smell, vision, and touch.
